I founded Plumes & Pearls after struggling to find the perfect clutch to carry at my son's wedding. Like many women, I was disappointed with the boring styles carried in the department stores. After finding nothing I liked in the stores, my daughter suggested that I dust off my sewing machine, visit the local fabric store, and create make my own clutch. Using my outfit as inspiration, I designed my first clutch using silver silk fabric and satin lining. And then I added my signature piece: a bold feather embellishment. After seeing the finished design, I created a clutch for my daughter to carry during the wedding. I enjoyed making the two clutches so much that I created one more for my soon-to-be daughter-in-law. I still remember how excited she was when she saw the clutch for the first time the morning of her wedding. To my surprise, all 3 purses were an instant conversation piece during the wedding, and that was the beginning of Plumes & Pearls ...
